Aaliyah Documentary to Shed Light on Her Life and Legacy

(GENS RADIO)—Aaliyah, the late R&B singer who died suddenly in a plane crash in 2001, is getting the documentary treatment. Her life, legacy, and the mark she left on culture will be explored in an all new special called Superstar: Aaliyah, which will air on ABC on June 14.

The doc is expected to feature singer’s former boyfriend, Damon Dash, her uncle and manager, Barry Hankerson, and recording engineer/producer Jimmy Douglass, Justine Skye, Sevyn Streeter, and will.i.am, and more.
