(GEMS RADIO)—Ashanti received her star on the Walk of Fame.
This past Thursday the R&B singer and actress was joined by Ja Rule after she received her star on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. She found herself getting emotional too.
“It’s surreal,” she said. “I’m shocked, stunned and over the top grateful. This is a staple in my career and the fact that it will be here forever is a big deal. I’m not a super emotional person, so the fact that I cried a little bit today is a little weird for me.”
Ashanti released her first album in 2002. She went on to release five other albums and won a Grammy for Chapter II for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2004.
As an actress, she’s starred in The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, Disney’s animated series The Proud Family, Coach Carter and John Tucker Must Die, among others.
The star is now producing movies as well.
