(GEMS RADIO)- Curren$y reflected on his past as an artist on the Young Money roster. CURREN$Y highlights Lil Wayne’s work ethic and even the manner in which he impacts him.

When asked about his time as a member of the Young Money roster during a Rolling Loud California performance where both artists were appearing, Curren$y reflected on those early recording sessions and explained what he remembered most.

Lil Wayne’s Work Ethics

Lil Wayne often re-records certain verses numerous times until he thought he really had cracked it, Spitta recounted, adding that even if he didn’t make the song in five minutes, he could focus for a few hours until he got that one part down.

I respect him for it constantly and ever, and I don’t examine my crap with the same degree of scrutiny as bro does, said Curren$y. “It is a blessing because I’m just enjoying myself with it… But bro is an automaton. He desired everything from it, and he received it all.

Although being listed No. 7 on the contentious “50 Greatest Rappers Of All Time” list published by Billboard last month, Lil Wayne has also received plenty of support and acclaim lately.

During the Black Music Collective Global Impact Awards, Joey Bada$$ spoke briefly with Baller Alert and said that his childhood desire was to be signed to Young Money, where he preferred Lil Wayne to Weezy from the Cash Money period.

Weezy At The Black Music Collective

At the inaugural Recording Academy Honors hosted by the Black Music Collective that evening in Los Angeles, California, Weezy entered the stage to accept the Global Impact Award. He began by expressing his gratitude to the event’s planners and attendees before giving the audience some background information about his upbringing.
