(GEMS RADIO)—Damon Dash says JAY-Z betrayed him for money.

During a YouTube show, Dash opens up about their falling out. JAY-Z, Kareem Burke, and Dash founded the Roc-A-Fella record label in 1994. Roc-A-Fella sued Damon Dash accusing him of selling an NFT of JAY-Z’s 1996 Reasonable Doubt.

“That’s the algorithm. It wasn’t surprising ’cause that’s what always happens,” he said. “We were breaking the algorithm, we were doing it a different way and sticking together, but that’s what always happens. They make one sell out the other, their friend, divide and conquer, that’s a normal story,” says Dash of doing business with JAY-Z.

In June, Dash reached an agreement with the record label that he cannot sell an NFT of the album. Dash said he intended to sell one-third of his ownership in the label back in June.
