Lil Durk has called off many tour dates and is declining show appearances where he would have earned almost $1million. Akademiks revealed that this situation is occurring because the artist is concentrating on his health and it’s not because of few ticket sales.
“Since I’m still awaiting to get full clearance from my doctors to travel and perform again, I have no other choice but to cancel my headlining Rolling Loud performance,” Durk posted. “While I’m home resting, I am looking forward to my two homecoming shows on the 11th and 12th in Chicago. For the rest of the country, I’ll be announcing new dates soon. #StillHealing.”
At the beginning of this month, Lil Durk was admitted in hospital for extreme dehydration and fatigue.
Reports by TMZ Hip Hop indicate that Durk became sick in Ohio and visited the hospital on the 6th of July. He went to the hospital for a simple check up but the doctors determined that his health was in a bad state.
“My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this,” He said back then. “I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to. #StillHealing.”
Another rapper who has been cancelling tour dates is Lil baby though for totally different reasons. He has been facing a problem with selling tickets. Even though he is among the rappers who have many huge streaming numbers, he is struggling to fill an arena. Many people think this is happening because the tickets are too costly while others think it’s because he doesn’t have a great stage presence.
Whatever the reason, it has resulted in several date cancelations. Additionally, he suffered another blow when Kid Laroi changed his mind about doing the tours. The plot thickened on Tuesday when Lil baby dropped a sample of his new single on Twitter and it was not well received by hip hop fans. He received a lot of hate in the comments section.
