MC Serch is Selling His Holdings from Nas’ Albums

(GEMS RADIO)—MC Serch, from classic hip hop group 3rd Bass, is selling one hundred percent of his holding from Nas’ music catalog, which includes 1994’s Illmatic and 1996’s  It Was Written, both of which Serch executive produced.

“I have decided to sell all of the rights, including the global rights,” he tells AllHipHop. “I started conversations with several companies a few months ago. For 27 years, it has provided my family through good times and bad. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”

The triple platinum It Was Written will go down as one of hip hop most iconic albums. It features “If I Ruled The World” with Lauryn Hill and was Nas’ highest grossing album.
