(GEMS RADIO)—Mister Cee, one of the famous DJs behind 94.7 The Block, has died. He was only 57.

Mister Cee is noted for his production on the Notorious B.I.G.’s classic 1994 debut Ready To Die. “We’ve lost one of the most important figures in the industry,” 94.7 The Block said on social media. Cee was also Big Daddy Kane’s DJ. He began his career at Hot 97.

“Rest In Peace DJ Mister Cee” said DJ Jazzy Jeff.

“Man, one of my favorite DJs is gone. The Finisher! May the great Mister Cee rest in peace,” says hip hop journalist Elliott Wilson.

Hot 97’s very own Peter Rosenberg wrote, “We have lost the iconic Mister Cee. I listened to him yesterday and am in complete shock. He was a dear friend to all of us, a wonderful man, and one of the most important and impactful DJs of all time. I love you Cee.”

Cause of death has not been revealed as of yet.
