Netflix To Air Women in Hip Hop Documentary

(GEMS RADIO)—Netflix is getting ready to air “Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip Hop”. The celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary is continuing with a four part docuseries honoring the greatest female pioneers in hip hop. The docuseries covers Queen Latifah, Remy Ma, Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, Da Brat, and today’s hottest female hip hop artists as well. There will be commentary from journalists, record label reps, and stylists as well.

“We have come through a lot,”says Latifah. “We have stood back up and will always keep standing up.”

The series is coming to Netflix soon.

JAY-Z Exhibit Extended til October

(GEMS RADIO)---JAY-Z exhibit dubbed "Book Of Hov" is now extended until October. The exhibit can be found at the Brooklyn Public Library. It has taken off since day one. Those who cannot attend the exhibit can do so virtually with narration from Angie Martinez. Many of his peers are celebrating the exhibit as well. Questlove just recently gave praise as well. The exhibit opened with much fanfare on July 14.
