(GEMS RADIO)- Big Freedia and Lil Wayne are set to do an “El Nino” collaboration. The two rappers are New Orleans natives. They will also feature the upcoming rapper Boyfriend in the remix. The track “El Nino” was dropped on the Juneteenth holiday this year. The song is one the singles in the forthcoming album titled “Central City”. The album has 16 songs and will be released on June 23rd.
Big Freedia explained that El Nino is a song about persevering in any hardships that you encounter in your life and overcoming them. She proceeded to discuss about doing a collaboration with Lil Wayne.
She also added that the song is one of the tracks she likes most in the album, it features Boyfriend who has collaborated with her for years and it is also her first time collaborating with Lil Wayne, something she has desired to do for ages.
She expressed optimism that the song is going to be well-received by their fans and that they are representing their city.
The other artists who have been featured in the album are Faith Evans, Ciara, Kelly Price and kamaiyah. Big Freedia will also start her national tour on that Friday of the 23rd June. The tour will start in Brooklyn.
The last time Big Freedia dropped an album was in 2014 which was labelled “Just Be Free”. She appeared in the College Hill: Celebrity Edition BET reality show and she has also done some projects with Beyonce such as “Break My Soul” and “Formation”.
Big Freedia and Lil Wayne are not the only ones working on a remix. Yung Miami and GloRilla shared videos of their freestyle verses for Latto’s song “Put It On Da Floor”. Cardi B had earlier joined Latto in a quest to make a new remix for the song.
Yung confessed to her followers that she wasn’t part of the remix and was just doing a freestyle because she liked the song. However, Latto urged her to join the others in making the remix.
“Caresha pleaseee no cap in ur rap okk DROP!” She posted this message plus some fire emojis and shared Yung Miami’s freestyle.
