(GEMS EADIO)-Doja Cat received yet another accomplishment on Tuesday when she was crowned Songwriter of the Year at the 2023 Broadcast Music Inc.
Songs Doja Co-wrote
Even though Doja Cat termed her most recent endeavors “mediocre pop,” praise has continued to pour in despite her disapproval.
She received recognition for writing six of her top singles from 2022, such as “Get Into It (Yuh)” (co-written with SULLY and Y2K), “I Like You (A Happier Song)” (co-written with Jasper Harris), “Need to Know,” “Need to Know,” “You Right,” “Woman,” and “Vegas” were co-written by Yeti Beats, Rogét Chahayed, Linden Jay of PRS, Jidenna, and Aaron Horn of PRS.
Doja Cat Talks Of Her Previous Records
The current success of Doja Cat comes at an intriguing period in her professional life. She also revealed an astonishing fact about her albums saying they were “cash grabs.”
The singer/rapper said earlier this week on Twitter that her most recent albums, “Hot Pink” from 2019 and “Planet Her” from 2021, were both “mediocre pop” songs created only for financial gain and that her fans fell for the trick.
She commented, “Planet Her and Hot Pink were money grabs and yall fell for it.” “Now y’all can weep for mediocre pop while I go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island.”
Doja’s New Album
Unsurprisingly, Doja Cat left out her debut album Amala from the tweet.
Soon afterward, she revealed that the title of her forthcoming album is First of All and not Hellmouth, as many fans had anticipated. In another tweet, she stated, “it’s not called Hellmouth either; it’s called First of All.” “And yes, I’m just now revealing the album’s title,”
Doja Cat also used Instagram Live on Tuesday to play a brief segment of brand-new music in which she returns to her rap roots.
