(GEMS RADIO)- As a gesture of support for the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and their current strike, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have announced postponing their upcoming Hollywood Bowl performances until October.

Snoop Dogg Postpones his Concerts

The rap moguls were scheduled to perform two orchestral concerts on June 27 and 28 to commemorate Snoop’s 1993 album “Doggystyle,” which was produced by Dr. Dre. However, Snoop recently verified the “Snoop Dogg Friends” shows had been postponed until October because of the current Hollywood writer’s strike and other union negotiations in the industry.

Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram: “We have decided to postpone the shows scheduled for June 27 and June 28 at the Hollywood Bowl due to the ongoing WGA strike and the DGA [Directors Guild of America] and SAG/AFTRA [Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists] negotiations. He continued, saying, “We support the unions and believe that reasonable contracts will be negotiated as quickly as possible by the AMPTP [Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers] so that everyone may resume their jobs.”

The New Dates For The Concerts

The new dates for the performances are October 20 and 21. The concerts for Snoop Dogg and Friends initially planned for June 27, and 28 have been moved to October 20 and 21, according to a statement on the venue’s website.

Previously purchased tickets for Tuesday, June 27 will be honoured at the Friday, October 20 concert, and Wednesday, June 28 will be marked at the Saturday, October 21 show.”

Snoop Dogg Voiced His Concerns

During a panel discussion, Snoop first voiced his support for the WGA strike last month when he discussed the similarities between musicians demanding more significant streaming royalties and Hollywood writers seeking fair pay.

He demanded that someone please clarify to me how I may get a billion streams but not a million dollars. The main complaint of many musicians is that they perform in big numbers yet need to make more money. Where the fuck is the money?
