(GEMS RADIO)—JAY-Z has been reportedly asked to perform at next months Grammy Awards Show in Los Angeles. He may give a hand to DJ Khaled’s performance. Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige, Dave Grohl, and Brandi Carlile are all set to perform as well.
Jay has boycotted the Grammys for being a white wash in recent years. While Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Adele are all up for major awards, they are all expected not to perform at his year’s ceremony.
Most of the awards are not aired except for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. These award categories are white washed while Kendrick Lamar put his all in for his albums. Lauryn Hill won Album of the Year in 1999 as did rap duo Outkast in 2004 but it has been a dry spell since then for hip hop music winning in the major categories. We will see if the Grammys got it right this year. Doubtful, but hopeful.
