This week has been busy: MTV held their Video Music Awards on Sunday, and Monday marked the return of the highly anticipated Met Gala, which was postponed from May 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. As one of the biggest nights in fashion, the Met Gala honors creativity and style. Each year sees a new theme, and this year guests wore “American Independence” to the gala.
Among the guest list was Lewis Hamilton, who came with a few surprises. Hamilton bought a table at the ball and invited several Black designers such as Theophilio, Kenneth Nicholson and Jason Rembert to sit with him. “We’re living in a time where diversity and inclusion is so important,” said Hamilton (to Liam Hess of Vogue). Users on social media agreed, with many praising his decision to extend the invitation.
