(GEMS MUSIC)- Punch the record executive praised SZA on Twitter on Sunday March 5th, and recalled that only “50-70 people” had attended her debut performance. Things have unquestionably changed for the 33-year-old singer, who ended up selling out Madison Square Garden.

Punch Recalls SZA’S Journey

“Brooklyn Steel was SZA’s first performance I attended. There might have been 50 to 75 people inside,” Punch wrote. “Today, Madison Square Garden was sold out. A few nights. Crazy.”

SZA has been in a good mood since the release of her highly anticipated second record, SOS. The album topped the charts for over ten weeks.

Billboard Woman of the Year

Billboard chose the top-charting R&B artist 2023’s Woman of the Year. The singer discussed her issues with self-confidence and how she has been able to overcome her doubts during her victory speech.

SZA sais she used to feel like I didn’t matter since I don’t always feel that way, but I’ve since learned that the secret is to constantly be open to the universe or what God wants to accomplish with your life. I don’t know why I’ve been on Billboard for ten weeks, even when you don’t understand your identity or don’t see it. I’m appreciative!

Editorial Director of Billboard Honors SZA

SZA was formally named Billboard’s Woman of the Year for 2023 in early February, and a cover story accompanied the announcement.

‘SZA has defied genres and consistently created honest, emotional songs that have placed her music on the Billboard charts since she broke onto the scene in 2017,’ stated Hannah Karp, editorial director of Billboard, in a news release.

She has cemented her position as a distinctive force in modern R&B and propelled herself into superstardom with the debut of her most recent album, SOS. We’re eager to recognize her as Woman of the Year.
