(GEM RADIO)- The BMF Documentary, Blowing Money Fast, whose premiere is set for October 23, was announced by the starz network on Monday, October 3, through Twitter. The upcoming documentary, a companion piece to the STARZ hit series Black Mafia Family, also known as BMF, is executive produced by 50 Cent.

Single Film

It was initially billed as an eight-episode documentary series when it was first announced last November. It seems to have been streamlined into a single film, though. “The documentary series will offer an inside look at different perspectives from all of those involved, BMF Blowing Money Fast,” 50 said in a statement at the time.

“The success of BMF demonstrates a continued rise in fan demand and interest in the story of the Flenory brothers,” Jeffrey Hirsch, President, and CEO of STARZ, said previously. “We’re excited to dive deeper into the world of Black Mafia Family in this new project with Curtis, Shan, and the teams at G-Unit and Jigsaw.”

BMF Origin

Terry “Southwest T” Flenory and Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, two brothers, established BMF in Southwest Detroit in 1985. By 2000, BMF had grown to become one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in the U.S, with over $270 million in drug proceeds at its disposal when Meech and T were apprehended in 2005.

When it premiered on The STARZ at the end of 2021, its launch set many records for the network, breaking the previous year’s record for the most popular premiere on the STARZ app across all of its programming. After the first season’s first episode aired, the show was given a second season, which will begin somewhere in January 2023.

50 Cent is Ending Contract with The Starz

Despite the fact that 50 Cent has enjoyed remarkable success with STARZ, the G-Unit tycoon revealed in September that his lucrative contract with the network was coming to an end.

“Shout out to BET, I won Hustler of the year,” he said while counting stacks of cash. “No one from music culture has had success in Television production. I have 25 shows now and I’ve made some big deals away from TV. I’m out of my deal at STARZ tomorrow.”
