(GEMS RADIO)—Tupac will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 7th.

Twenty six years after his death the rap icon will be getting his long overdue star. Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, Tupac’s sister, will accept the honor on his behalf during the formal opening ceremony for the star. Pac starred in JuicePoetic JusticeAbove the Rim and Gridlock’d.

2Pac released his debut album in 1991 and signed with Suge Knight’s Death Row Records. He died on 13 September 1996 at the age of 25, after he was shot four times in Las Vegas.

“Tupac Shakur’s legacy will continue through his contributions in art and social outreach, through his family and fans, touching countless lives of children and elders over the years while alive and after his death, taken too young by gun violence,” says council member Carroll Fife.
