In a recent interview on his radio talk show, the up-and-coming rapper NBA Youngboy named French Montana among his top five hip-hop rappers. When asked the reason, Youngboy hailed French Montana’s style and delivery, saying, “he just goes hard.”

NBA Youngboy has been very vocal about his admiration for the older rapper and has even said that he is one of his biggest inspirations. Other rappers who found their way onto NBA Youngboy’s “Top 5 Hip Hop Rappers’ List” include Yeat, (Young) Thug, Glizzy, Shy Glizzy, and (Soulja) Slim. It is clear that the young rapper has a lot of respect for experienced rappers and is looking up to them as he continues to make a name for himself.

2021’s Collaboration

This isn’t the first time Youngboy has shown that he loves French Montana. In 2021, the two collaborated on the song “Untouchable,” which appeared on Youngboy’s debut album, “Ain’t Too Long.”

French Montana has been a big inspiration to NBA Youngboy since he started making music. His unique blend of trap and hip-hop has influenced a generation of rappers, including NBA Youngboy.

NBA Youngboy has worked with all the 5 top hip-hop rappers he mentioned, except for Soulja Slim, the New Orleans rapper who died in 2003.

French Montana’s Beats and Hooks

Montana’s hard-hitting beats and catchy hooks are the perfect backdrops for NBA Youngboy’s raw and emotive lyrics. And just like Montana, NBA Youngboy isn’t afraid to experiment with his sound, which has led to some truly unique and exciting music.

Last year NBA Youngboy collaborated with French to produce the track “So Real”, which is part of the “CB5” album. And for the track, “Hard,” he recruited Shy Glizzy for a mixtape called “3800 Degrees,” released in early 2022.

He also enlisted Yeat (a California-based top rapper) for the title “I Don’t Text Back.” NBA Youngboy has produced 10 projects in 2022, including “The Lost Files.” NBA Youngboy and French have mutual respect and it’s exciting to see what they might do next.
